report tomorrow. what the democrats did is run a good show in charlotte whether michelle obama, john kerry was strong. joe biden. they did their job. so now these connections to raise money going into the debate season which i think will be way more important and tampa or charlotte. neil: you're reminded me people would entertain change change the president if the other one is the acceptable alternative. is it steady as she goes? >> negative centrist because barack obama has a lot of composure. you almost feel the unflappable self-confidence but people are starting to warm up to him but can they go past the ring of fire one-on-one winning two out of three debates? there is pressure with mitt romney but the democrats have the strong week they had problems with jerusalem and there was rain and also god but also a very successful week. neil: thank you. cardinal boland giving the of benediction. >> revealed to us so powerfully in your son jesus christ of the we think you for sharing your blessings upon the nation. bless all present and all across the great land to work hard. today when a

talking points and in talking about veterans in jobs, the the work of michelle obama and jill biden, he's bridged this divide in a way. >> dr. biden, the second lady, if you will, make iing a point almost in a civil war setting that women, taking an interest in mostly guys are getting injured badly, they're killed and being out and addressing them as individuals that are important, years after the battle. >> and that is what's so unpleasant if you will about romney's reply on fox. in afghanistan, it's 110 degrees, walking around with a pack and weapon or imagine you have a loved one who is and you hear him or hear referred to as a laundry list. that's a dehumanizing of what these people are doing. but to romney, it's just another issue. i don't need to deal with that issue in this speech. it's not a laundry list. it's human beings. >> i remember the story, super bowl game and i'm watching the pilots come over and they see the guy in the cockpit and it strikes you that we all should remember that at any moment right now, no matter what time of the day, there are people on post in places

obama and why he should be given another shot at this. michele obama presented a very personal story. we are going to talk to a congressman who had a story more than 24 hours ago. peter barnes on the floor of the democratic national convention. reporter: neil, one of the goals of the obama campaign is to try to reach across generations and we are doing that right here on the north carolina delegation. a few seats down from me, an older delegate wearing what looks to be an original top hat for john f. kennedy, caroline kennedy's uncle. the campaign, of course, trying to appeal to seniors as well as younger voters and middle-aged voters across all the ages. big decisions over the next few years. he is going to say that he wants more time and needs more time. the truth is it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades. including creating another million manufacturing jobs by 2016. neil: since it took a while to turn this ship around, you will hear a lot of references to do a job come back up 20 months. a lot of this will go into about a year af

, give a speech flowing enough in poetry but rooted enough and public policy. starting with michelle obama before the him, and bill clinton himself and his vintage form, i think obama took the baton and ran the last leg and did so with oratorical flourish. >> it certainly is not the sports like assessment that i just heard from the good doctor. we have been saying for some time obama is not the lesser of evils, but the more effective evil. we base that on his record and on his rhetoric at the convention. we prefer to talk about what history making events have gone down under his presidency. first of all, he has created a model for austerity a veritable model with his deficit reduction commission. his introduced preventive detention, a law for preventive detention and expanded drone wars and made an unremitting assault. i think possibly the biggest impact to his presidency, and not talking about all of this like an eerie stuff from the convention, but probably what will go down as his biggest contribution to history is a kind of merging of the banks and the state with $16 trillion bei

. michelle obama gave a very personal and good speech for her husband. president obama is will give a wonderful speech tonight he is very good. and at the end of the day this is what happen what matters. monday we have the announcement that gas prices doubled and we have the highest labor in the country. and we have the highest deficit. when the speeches are done tonight tomorrow we will get the jobs report and it will show 43 months in a row over 8% unemployment. 23 million americans are out of work. at the end of the day, the speakers are nice and this is a serious election in serious times. and it comes down to whether or not president obama's policies have worked and when you look at the numbers by any real measure you have to say they have not worked. >> so the campaign seemed to be painting two different visions of america. based on perhaps similar experiences that people have undergone over the last couple of years. the romney campaign says perhaps are you not better off than you were four years ago and the obama campaign is saying listen it is tough but we inherited a deep m
